Double Wing

Good afternoon from England! I can't believe it's almost that time of year again - where has this year flown off too?! I hope everybody is looking forward to the holiday season as much as I am.

This morning I was tempted by my Eyeko liquid liners, and of course the first one I reached for was the purple one. I love purple, and I love using it in makeup looks - I just wish that I had a better light source that didn't make this look more blue-ish, but I think it's so pretty nonetheless!

I almost added falsies to this look but I decided not to at the very last minute as I didn't want to draw any of the attention away from the double-wing - this way you can see it much more clearly without long lashes hiding it! (Whilst we're talking about lashes, please excuse my own - they couldn't be tamed this morning...)

Soft Warm Brown

Warm browns are one of my favourite colours to use when I'm aiming to make my eyes look instantly healthier and brighter, and the 'Cocoa Eclair' eyeshadow by Beauty Bakerie works as a wonderful example.

This deep brown shade has a slight warm purple undertone to it - which gives it a lot of depth - and it's finished off nicely with very pretty speckles of gold glitter.

Since this look is so simple, I decided to throw in the tiniest hint of colour around the tear duct. I'd probably be more inclined to wear something like this around Christmastime. What do you think?

Soft Cut Crease

Hello! I hope November has been treating everybody well so far.

Here's something a little different than the style that I'm normally more inclined to stick too. I've always loved the cut crease look but it's just not something that I would normally choose to wear myself, so I thought I'd experiment with it today.

I wasn't sure how this would turn out as I didn't really know where I was going with it, so I decided to just stick with neutrals until I'd seen the outcome. I was quite happy with how it eventually turned out, and now I'm definitely more inspired to try this look again using colour and possibly glitters!

Excuse any weird lighting in this photograph - it's so hard to get a decent shot when it starts going dark at 3:00PM!

Super soft and easy Dita Von Teese inspired

I'm a huge fan of Dita and her performances. Along with her passion for burlesque, she's also a fashion and makeup extraordinaire.

Dita can often be seen sporting a subtle soft eye with her Old Hollywood style winged liner, and a lot of the time she chooses to wear a wash of a light matte shadow from her lid to her browbone more often than not with a grey or silver shade softly blended into the crease.

Her typical makeup looks are usually very simple and extremely easy to replicate with only the need of a few products.

I also used the very appropriately named 'Dita' lashes from the Girls With Attitude 'Burlesque Beauty' line to finish this look off.

Lemon and Lime

I can't help but feeling that I've been abandoning a lot of colours that are more 'out there' lately.

Although I've still been posting some looks which involve a lot of bright colours, I feel that there's a lot that I'm also missing out. I find this more noticeable when I look at my Instagram and see all of my photographs next to each other!

So, to try and make up for my recent lack of variety, here's something a little more playful using colours that we probably aren't used to see on a day-to-day basis.

Beauty Bakerie Cake Pop Lippies: Product Info & Swatches

I already posted a look a few days ago using a couple of eyeshadows from the cute indie brand that is Beauty Bakerie, and now I'd love to show you some of their super pretty Cake Pop Lippie lipsticks.

'Kiss My Ice' & 'Berry Yum Yum' Cake Pop Lippies - Click to enlarge

I'm lucky enough to have these lippies in two shades: 'Kiss My Ice', and 'Berry Yum Yum', and both are equally delectable. Beauty Bakerie offer a wider range of products and shades to choose from, so go ahead and look at their website to see what else they have to offer!

Please note that I used a Fuschia lipliner in both of these swatches to add extra dimension.

  • Beauty Bakerie Cake Pop Lippie in 'Kiss My Ice'
    Price - $12 each at Beautybakerie.com

The first of the two shades is 'Kiss My Ice', a light 'barbie' pink colour. This lipstick has an ultra matte texture, and I found that it can be used as a slight wash of colour over the lips or alternatively can be easily built up to provide a fully opaque finish.

I was initially a little worried that this colour would be too light for me as I'm so fair, but with a little bit of fuchsia lip liner to help break it up a little, I think it looks pretty damn cute.

If you suffer from dry lips like myself, I would heavily advise that you gently exfoliate your lips before applying a matte lipstick, like 'Kiss My Ice'. Beauty Bakerie also stock a sugar scrub at $10, so no fear - you can still rock this lipstick!

One thing in particular that I noticed and love about 'Kiss My Ice', is that it has a sort of vanilla scent to it, much like MAC lipsticks. Perfect for a product that came straight out of the bakerie!

  • Beauty Bakerie Cake Pop Lippie in 'Berry Yum Yum'
    Price - $12 each at Beautybakerie.com

Now, onto 'Berry Yum Yum'!

Firstly, what I'd like to point out about this lipstick is that from all of the swatches I have seen online, it appears to look completely different depending on skintone. On myself, it applies as a medium toned, vibrant purple. On some - such as the swatch on Beauty Bakerie's store - it looks quite light. So I'd keep that in mind if you're considering purchasing 'Berry Yum Yum', and make sure you search around for different swatches to try find out what this shade will look like on you.

Compared to 'Kiss My Ice's' matte texture, 'Berry Yum Yum' has much more of a satin sheen to it and feels much more hydrating on the lips. It doesn't have the same vanilla scent that 'Kiss My Ice' has, but the pigmentation in this statement shade overrides that anyway.

Purple lipsticks are EVERYWHERE this Autumn, and this would make a perfect edition to anyones fall makeup collection.

What do you think? I adore them! I absolutely love the whole concept behind the brand, too.

Sensually Smokey

When I think of 'typical' autumn-ready makeup, I automatically think of smokey browns, burnt oranges, coppers and deep plum shades.

So, today, I decided to roll all of those shades into one, and I put together this classic smokey autumnal look.

The 'Lavish' palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills was perfect for creating this look as it had pretty much every shade that I had in mind contained inside, which made this a very straight-forward look to put together. If you don't already own it, I'd highly recommend the Lavish kit for this Autumn purely for the reason above.

Normally, I reach straight for my blackest black eyeliner. However, for this particular look I opted for a chocolate brown liner instead, to slightly compliment these shadows better (although it appears to be almost black in the photograph, waaah!). I also wish you could see the gorgeous mink eyelashes I'm wearing a little better from this angle!

Because of the orange undertones in this look, it's especially complimentary for gals with blue eyes, yet is versatile enough to work on just about anybody, so give it a go!

Delectable Damson

I love all of the different colours that come along with Autumn - the plums, the forest greens, the orange shades - so I was inspired to put together a look that's great for the fall season whilst remaining pretty and girly.

Today's feminine damson eye makeup would look equally gorgeous teamed up with a nude lip or a deep plum shade for the current vamp trend that everyone seems to be going crazy about (including myself!).

I had a tonne of fun using my brand new sweet treats from the wonderful indie brand Beauty Bakerie to help bring this glamorous look to life.

Speaking of trends, what is everybody's favourite current fall trend?
