Sunset Eyes

Been feeling a wee bit more vibrant these past couple of days as the weather over here in the UK has taken a turn for the better (for now...), so good moods all round!! I wanted to reflect that in this update as the last few looks I've posted on here have been sooo unexciting and boringly neutral (I love neutrals, but being uninspired SUCKS), so here's something using a little bit more colour.

When I first started applying this and blending the shadows together, I half expected it to turn out looking like some kind of weird bruise but I think came together okay in the end, haha. And NO winged liner for the first time in a long time - I feel so naked, ahhhh!!! - that's always a hard one for me to resist...

I'm also really feeling these GWA 'Swept Away' false lashes that I used here. They're definitely a current personal favourite of mine and I know I'm not alone having already seen a few celebrities showing them off, too. They've been my go-to lashes for the past month or so as I find them so versatile and easy to wear.

Hope everybody is having a great week so far.

Split Liner

I tried out bottom strip lashes on myself for the first time today; they'd never really appealed to me too much because I always imagined bottom strip lashes to feel uncomfortable compared to using individual inserts on the lower lash line, but since I received these short and natural looking ones by Eldora in the post a few weeks ago I thought I might as well give them a go and see how they look and feel.

These S402 lashes are shorter rather than lengthening, are light and don't really look false at all (a good thing!) and I love how much more thicker they make my sparse bottom lashes look. I still thought they felt weird at first (kind of the same feeling when you wear any kind of false lashes for the first time) as I could really feel the lash band underneath my natural lashes but after a while of wearing them I forgot they were even there. I'll be looking into buying more bottom strip lash styles now as I find individuals too fiddly to apply on the bottom and these took about 5 seconds to apply, yay.

For the rest of the eyes I used mostly all Motives products, because they're awesome and I feel like I've neglected them for a while. Shame on me...

Liner And Lashes

I had to race against the sun going down this afternoon so I could snap a photo and update on here as I haven't been able to post much this month, so I had to keep it fairly easy and quick before it started going dark outside, messing up my light and ruining my chance to update...

It's been a while since I last posted a graphic liner photo, so I decided that's what I'd play around with today as it only takes about 10 minutes - if that - and only requires a few products to be used.

I originally planned on showing everyone some of the really cool pairs of Eldora lashes that I have lined up and have been itching to use, but when I applied them they obviously hid way too much of the eyeliner so I had to replace them with these more natural ones to make sure that the liner was fully visible, but I was still pleased with how it looked! I think these ones finished the look off nicely in the end.

Happy Thursday, people!

Lavish Cateye

It feels like it's been a good while since I last put my Anastasia Beverly Hills Lavish Palette to proper use, so that's what I decided to reach for this afternoon. I didn't really know what to go for, and when in doubt I usually tend to stick with neutrals instead of sitting around staring at my makeup for what feels like forever trying to come up with a fancy colour combination... So this is what I have for you today.

As I said in my previous post, I'm really loving the Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner's lately and I couldn't resist throwing a little bit of sparkle in. I remember hearing on one of Pixiwoo's YouTube videos that Leona's Lewis' makeup artist once used this exact liner on her when she performed on the X Factor a few years ago. It's always great to see celebrity makeup artists digging pharmacy brands, too.

Hope everyone has been enjoying their weekend so far!

Valentine's Glitter Lips

Happy Valentine's Day!

Here's another little something just for fun using the same glitter liner that I also used in my previous post. I love this pink glitter liner from Collection so much that I needed another excuse to use it, and when I saw it laid out next to Lime Crime's Pink Velvet Velvetine on my desk they almost looked like they were made to be teamed together - so that's what I did.

I'll admit that wearing a glitter gel eyeliner on your lips isn't the most comfortable of things and have no idea how well this would wear if you were daring enough to wear it out, but doesn't it look gorgeous?

These glitter liners only cost £2.99 each (I was actually only charged £2.50 each at ASDA even though the label said £2.99, which is also what it says on the Collection website), can easily be found at most typical supermarkets and pharmacies in the UK and are AWESOME. They come in a variety of different colours and are a real steal.

Valentine's Vixen

Only a few more days to go until it's Valentine's Day, and after seeing so many gorgeous Valentine's-ready looks being posted around on Instagram in the run-up, I couldn't resist posting one myself.

When I think of Valentine's makeup the first kind of thing that usually comes into my head is 'date' appropriate makeup - soft, subtle, wearable and flirty - buuuut seeing as I'll be alone this year (not a bad thing!) and won't be doing anything special with my makeup anyway, I decided to amp it up a bit by making it a little more interesting by doing the complete opposite by using bright colours, thick liner and - of course - glitter. Much more fun, right?

I received a couple of pairs of the suitably named 'Heart Stopper' false lashes from the lovely ladies at Girls With Attitude this week and what better time to put them to good use? Very fitting for such an eye-catching look, don't you think?

If you have plans this Valentine's, have an awesome time! And if not - Pffft. Who needs love, anyways? ;)

Orange And Aqua

Decided to play around with the 'Smoke It Out' palette from Crown Brush for the first time today. I'd never tried any of Crown Brush's products before I received these in the post a few days ago, and having already heard and seen so much about the brand I couldn't wait to get testing them out and see what they have to offer.

I felt spoilt for choice on which colours to use, so I threw this together using the two that instantly stood out most to me as soon as I opened the palette, and thankfully the combination worked well!

I also used a couple of the eye brushes from their Purple HD Brush Set to put together this look and so far I'm really impressed considering Crown Brush are a budget brand. As for the eyeshadows themselves, they take a little bit of packing on to achieve a good solid colour payoff, but the colour selection (at least in this particular palette) makes it worth the extra bit of work in my opinion.

I'm planning on making a post with some of my all time favourite cheapy products, and am curious to know what are your favourite budget or drugstore brands, if any?
